CALLYWOOD STUDIOS SIGNS MOU WITH HOLLYWOOD.

In the month of June 2016, Nollywood and Social media enthusiasts were thrilled to read a headline stating that His
Excellency Senator Professor Ben Ayade (aka Digital Governor Of Cross
River State) had Incorporated Callywood and endorsed Egor Efiok to run . With that announcement Egor Efiok officially became the Director General (DG) of Callywood Studios. This was the first time any Government in Nigeria, whether State or Federal would lay the foundations for a formal structure for the entertainment/movie industry with the aim of discovering and building up new talents while blending the old and new in creating some of the very best productions to ever come out of Africa.

Egor Efiok is one entrepreneur who stands out on a unique platform of talent, courage and innovation. Egor who if fondly called the PR Lady by her fans, clients and movie industry shakers and movers has such an array of credentials that makes it difficult to categorize her anything short of being multi-talented and innovative in a highly competitive industry. Born in Liver Pool, Egor Efiok is a known name both in Europe and Africa. Although she spent most of her early childhood in the UK, Egor has successfully combined running a successful career in the entertainment industry, at home and abroad.

Presently Egor has the following achievements and portfolios to her credit:

i. Hollywood Weekly Magazine Film Festival Award Of Excellence Recipient; CRSMA Merit Award For Best Diaspora Movie Producer

vi. CEO, E4 PR Productions (AAMMA Award Winner Of Best Entertainment, Artiste Management & PR.)

Leisure Quest Entertainment Magazine had an exclusive interview with Egor Efiok, where she gave a full brief on the achievements of Callywood thus far. Egor also informed Leisure Quest that Callywood had signed an MOU to screen all Callywood films in Hollywood and promised that more details will emerge later.

OUR PROGRESS SO FAR: By Egor Efiok

Callywood
Studios are building a database of actors, cinematographers,
scriptwriters, sound technicians etc…hence our auditions. Our team
will train eligible contestants in all areas of high production value
filmmaking in Cross River State. We would have a writer’s room headed by
Callywood Studios Head Screenwriter, Harry Kale, where we intend to
train and employ a minimum of twenty writers.

We
have taken note of all the outstanding contestants and have chosen a
few to star in our first two upcoming Hollywood Meets Callywood films.
We intend to shoot our first film in October this year, by the grace of
God, so that our new Callywood actors can have adequate time to train
for their roles and get into character.

If
you auditioned, please do not worry if you have not yet been picked, as
the selection process is ongoing and we still have many films in our
coffers which other contestants may be suitable for.

Callywood
Studios are also pleased to announce that we have signed an MOU to
screen all Callywood films in Hollywood. More details to emerge later.

Speaking on the June 2016 Callywood auditions, Egor stated that “There was such a large turn out in response to my first casting call, that we finished at almost midnight. Nollywood
veterans Charles Novia and Blessing Effiom Egbe flew into Calabar to
join our judging panel of myself (Director General Callywood Studios)
and Callywood Studios Director, Frank Macaulay, as guest judges along
with Hollywood Meets Nollywood film, Turning Point’s Award Winning lead
actor, Igoni Archibong. Igoni’s presence as a guest judge was to inspire
our wonderful hopefuls, as he has been through the same process and
came out of it successful and with 2 Best Actor awards to his name.
